As he told it, his dream was to manufacture the most beautiful fabrics in the world and in 1910 he opened Lanificio Zegna, a wool mill located on the alpine slopes of Trivero, building roads that connected the small villages of Biella so that people could appreciate the beautiful views of the region. This landscape, in addition to its beauty, provided many natural advantages for the processing of raw materials and quickly grew into the great industry we know today.
